Statement of Faith

Our mission and vision stem from our desire and commitment to do our part in fulfilling the Church’s mission to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout all the cities and countries of the world.

Our beliefs stem from an orthodox understanding of biblical Christianity, and our practices are guided by the teachings and commands of Jesus Christ, as described in the Holy Bible, which include loving God, loving others, and making disciples of all nations.

1.  God
is one God and the only God, who is the creator and ruler of all people and things, and who exists eternally in three distinct and co-equal persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:26-27; Deuteronomy 4:35, 39; Isaiah 45:5, 18; Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Peter 1:1-2.

2.  God the Father
displayed His immense love for all people by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world so that everyone who believes in Jesus Christ could have eternal life with God.  As a response to God’s love and grace, God desires for all people to love Him more than anything else in the world.

Matthew 22:37-38; John 3:16; 1 John 4:9-10.

3.  Jesus Christ
is the Son of God who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross to provide redemption for the sins of humanity, conquered death by rising from the grave, ascended to heaven to intercede for humanity, and will one day return to earth to judge all people before reigning with the Father and the Holy Spirit over all creation for all eternity.

Matthew 1:18-25; Mark 15-16; Ephesians 1:7-10; Hebrews 7:23-25; 1 John 3:5.

4.  The Holy Spirit
is the Spirit of God who communicates the words and thoughts of God to people, convicts people of their sins, reveals to people the truth of Jesus Christ as the Son of God in a way that creates saving faith, comes to live in the hearts of people who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, enables believers to live Christ-like lives, and manifests Himself through various spiritual gifts given to believers to empower them for ministry and service in the church and in the world.

John 15:26-16:15; 1 Corinthians 2:9-16; Galatians 5:16-26; Ephesians 1:13-14.

5.  The Bible
is the written Word of God and God’s unique revelation of Himself to people.  The Bible was written by human authors as they were divinely inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit, and therefore, the Bible serves as the supreme source for understanding spiritual truth and reality, the absolute standard for morality, and the final authority on all matters upon which it teaches.  No other writings are vested with such divine authority.

Romans 1:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21.

6.  People
are created in the image of God and will exist forever.  People are created to live in loving communion with God on earth and in heaven; however, the sin of Adam and Eve, along with the sins of each person, have made all people sinful before God, and their sin separates them from God and will cause them to live eternally separated from God in hell, unless people accept God’s free gift of the blood atonement of Jesus Christ through humble repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

Genesis 2-3; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:9-26; 4:12-21; Ephesians 2:1-10; 1 John 2:1-2.

7.  The Church is the body of Christ made up of all believers who accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as their Savior and Lord.  The Local Church is an extension of The Church and is made up of a group of believers who gather for worship, prayer, Bible teaching, and fellowship, all in an effort to encourage one another to fall more in love with Jesus, to find friends to live life with, and to fulfill God’s purposes for their lives.

Acts 2:42-47; Acts 14:21-23; 1 Corinthians 12:13, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23; Revelation 2-3.
